Attackers know exactly when your deadlines are
Encrypting your files the week your clients need you most is not an accident. It is the business model.
What we hear most
The problems that bring accounting and finance to us
- Ransomware timed to tax season or quarter end, when downtime pressure is highest
- Business email compromise aimed at client fund transfers
- Client data held across a file server, a portal, three practitioners' laptops and an email archive
- Security questionnaires arriving from custodians, broker dealers and carriers at once
- A written information security policy that exists as a template nobody has read
What we put in place, and evidence
- MFA everywhere including client portalEnforced
- SPF, DKIM and DMARCAt enforcement
- Out of band verification for fund transfersWritten and trained
- Written information security policyCurrent and adopted
- Endpoint detection on all devicesDeployed
- Restore tested backupsTest date recorded
- Annual risk assessmentDocumented
- Vendor and third party access reviewQuarterly
Every control produces a document, a report or a log. When a carrier, an auditor or a client asks whether you have it, the answer is a file rather than a conversation.
What we support
- Tax and accounting platforms, the workstations that run them, and the seasonal capacity they demand
- QuickBooks in every form it takes, hosted, desktop and online, plus the file corruption problems it is famous for
- Secure client portals and document exchange that is not an email attachment
- Microsoft 365 with archiving and retention configured deliberately
- The security questionnaire answers your custodians, broker dealers and carriers are asking for
Changing providers
Switching without losing a day
Cutover happens outside your working hours. Nothing that touches a server happens while you are trying to operate.
We document before we change anything. Your network gets mapped, credentials inventoried and licensing verified while your current provider is still in place.
You own everything from day one. Documentation, passwords, licences and configuration registered in your name. If you ever leave us, you take all of it and nothing stops working.
We own the vendor calls. Your software vendors, your ISP, your phone provider. That is our job, not your office manager's.

Straight answers
Questions accounting and finance ask first
Can you help us answer a custodian or carrier security questionnaire?
Yes. We map each question to what is actually running in your environment so the answers are accurate and evidenced. Overstating a control on a questionnaire creates more exposure than disclosing a gap with a remediation date.
What do you do differently during busy season?
Nothing disruptive gets scheduled into it, capacity gets checked before it starts rather than during, and we agree a change freeze window with you. The work to make busy season quiet happens in the autumn.
How do you prevent wire fraud?
Identity hardening so mailboxes are harder to compromise, email authentication so spoofed messages get stopped, alerting on suspicious mailbox rules, and a written out of band verification step before anyone acts on changed payment details. That last one costs nothing and prevents the most loss.
Do you support QuickBooks?
Yes, across hosted, desktop and online, including multi user setup, file performance and the corruption issues that surface at the worst moment.
We are eight people. Is managed IT overkill?
No, and the economics usually surprise people. Our rate is $250 per hour, and eight users on a flat monthly agreement typically costs less than what a firm that size already spends on reactive support, replaced hardware and lost hours.
